July 4th Independence Day

header-top-july4th-2015

As we celebrate the 4th of July again here in 2015, we think it’s important to pause and reflect upon what it means to live in America. This country was founded by men and women who wanted to escape persecution and the threat of government control over their lives.

Generation after generation, beginning in the 18th century, many brave patriots gave up everything they held dear, with a strong conviction in their belief that God created man and that we are endowed by Him with certain inalienable rights (That means they are birthrights, which can never be taken away), including the right to Life, the right to Liberty and the right to the pursuit of happiness.

The right to life means you have the God-given right to live your life free of the threat of someone taking it from you against your will. This right extends from unborn children all the way to elderly people who may be sick or dying and everyone in between.

The only way to lose that right is by taking it from someone else against their will or by betraying this free country.

The bottom line here is FREEDOM!

The right to Liberty means that you have the right to fair treatment and respect from others. People can’t come and take your stuff, harm you or your loved ones or steal your ideas without consequences.

In other words, you have the power to act as you please to pursue your own interests and preferences so long as they don’t violate the rights of others.

The right to the pursuit of happiness means you are free to go out in the world and create a great life for yourself. It doesn’t mean that the government will take care of you, it doesn’t mean you have a right to be happy all the time; it means you have the right to PURSUE happiness.

If you work hard, persevere, deny yourself and strive for your goals, you have a great chance to succeed here in America, more so than anywhere else on Earth! Click here to read the full version of our July 4th newsletter
